We have insurance with anthem bc/bs and yesterday was given the option of weight loss surgery or they will raise our rates 200 more a month. Really, and who are you to tell me how to live my life. I have a $500 copay for emergency room. Clearly stated in my benefits. I recently had an adverse reaction to over the counter cough syrup and cold medicine. We drove to the emergency room at 2:00 am at 70 mph. I had a red rash all over my upper body. I was admitted and my BP was 200/150 !!! EXTREMELY HIGH FOR MY AVERAGE. I have called multiple times during the past year and the shortest wait time was 27 minutes. You can expect to be on hold for at least 1/2 hour, any time of the day. Once connected, you pray you don't have to be transferred to another department; and if you are you can expect another 1/2 hour, at a minimum, to be on hold. My account with blueshield ca has been showing "INACTIVE" since I got insurance. Whenever I go to the doctor or pick up a prescription, they say that I don't have coverage. Then I have to go through a long phone call with blue shield EVERY MONTH to get this *** situation sorted out. Then it works... UNTIL THE NEXT MONTH. BS is the worst. They are the worst. I had to pay out of pocket for a prescription. Mind you, I have been on this prescription for the last year. However, in the beginning of the January my insurance began its new coverage. I have hepatitis c and just found out about it a couple of months ago. My liver is stage 3 damage 1 stage from cirrhosis. There is a new drug that came out and cures 95% of cases. Bcbs of tn dented my claim and will not help me with the medication because the cost is so high. my coverage was terminated because of late pymnt. Nope, all paid, every month, always over phone. Was told sorry and wait till next enrollment. Or go to market place and try and enroll. Left here with new family and no insurance. No choice, every phone call to the company I was told that I was in the right and not sure why it was terminated. Other than that couldn't help. I called in November of 2014 to get a new policy to reduce my my premium. BCBS led me to believe that it was a policy of convenience, when I chose the policy it stated that I could select my own service providers, leading me to believe that I could go where I needed and see who ever I need, until I actually needed to see a home nurse. try calling these people it will make your blood boil. They are simply unable to answer the phone, when you do get through and they then put you on hold again for another 20 minutes at which point you try the on-line -you ask if someone can call you back, they say NO!
