I have had nothing but problems with BCBS of GA through my employer! First of all, it took them almost 4 mos to approve an MRI on my spine! They finally said that they did approve it but somehow failed to let either my doctor or me know of this approval! The approval was also only "valid" for one month, so of course it had expired and I had to start all over again. Now my doctor has prescribed... Read more

Following are the 2 letters I sent to BCBS stating my case and 2 message conversations. July 28, 2014 To Whom It May Concern, I am submitting documents in order to be reimbursed for bank fees incurred due to automatic payments erroneously withdrawn from my checking account. On May 31, 2014 I authorized a one time payment from my checking account ending in 2818 on the Blue Access for Members... Read more

I've been on misc blood thinners for the last 11 months. We finally found one that worked (unfortunately it is a 2x a day injection). and now BCBS refuses to cover it because they think that oral anticoagulants should be used. My doctor has already informed me that I CANNOT take anything other than what we have already tried due to drug interactions. But because BCBS doesn't agree, now I don't... Read more

I called today to follow up on a prescription authorization submitted by my doctor. I waited for 15 minutes for someone to pick up - she unfortunately was not of much help. When I asked to speak to a supervisor I was put on hold for 5 more minutes - the same lady came, gave me an update on the original issue and said the supervisor was not going to talk to me. I once again asked for the... Read more

if u have a payment returned they will immediately pull you off automatic withdrawl with no notice. Then they cancel you. They dont care what happened nor do they care that no one told you they removed you from auto pay. I had been with BCBS for 8 years apparently they dont care about that either I was not aware I was removed from auto pay. They sent notice that they would cancel to an address I ... Read more

I will be traveling out of the country for four months. I have a prescription that must be refilled once a month. With Blue Cross BlueShield's 'vacation override policy,' I was able to get three months worth of my prescription in advance. But I need four months, so I have been in contact with my pharmacy and Blue Cross BlueShield for over two weeks. I asked both parties what I needed to do in... Read more

I chose my BCBSNC policy specifically because it allowed for brand name medications I need, although at a higher copay. (I take 3 brand name, 2 generics, after long experimentation by my MD). First pharmacy visit: denied. No appeal allowed. I also couldn't get for nearly 3 months a full copy of the policy booklet to confirm that the policy actually said what I understood when I bought it. Ended... Read more

BCBS of NJ had no problems taking premiums from my check for years, but when I needed medicine for my RA so I could stay off of disability, they refused payment! They didn't even have a Rhumatologist review my case! It was an oncologist. I want to keep working, but they'd rather me die. We need single payer TODAY! Add comment

It seems that the new law (Obamacare) does not apply to BC/BS, since they will only pay for the medicine if they feel like it. What good is it to be paying for an insurance policy that will denied you coverage when they want to. My wife need it a medicine,it was a little expensive,$33.00 and they simply refuse to pay for it, no explanation given. This is one real *** insurance co. how about... Read more
